She has been praised by Sia via Twitter, performed in front of millions when she performed the previous years winning song in the Swedish takeouts for the Eurovision Song Contest, toured with Timbuktu’s band Damn! – and all of this even before she has released her debut album, an album she has been working on for three years and will come out in the spring of 2018. Shirin was born in Berlin in 1995, she grew up in Norway and now lives in Malmö. She taught herself to sing by imitating big soul singers such as Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse, and the soul clearly shines through in her own singles Back to the basics and Together we are weak. With the debut album coming soon, we know that Shirin will catch our hearts with a maxed gig at Statement this summer.
